What if I need medication or a doctor on tour?

Print

If at any time you feel unwell, your tour leader can advise you on how to contact a doctor for a consultation. The quality of medical services varies from country to country and medicines that are available over the counter at home may not be available, or only available by prescription. Conversely, you may be surprised at what is available without a prescription in other countries. However, it is recommended that you carry the prescriptions for any drugs you may need, or carry extra medication with you.

If you are on any chronic or regular medication or contraception, you must bring a sufficient supply for the entire time you are away from home. We also suggest that you bring a small supply of antiseptic cream, sticking plasters, aspirin, insect repellent, cough medicine and perhaps some antibiotics. These are not carried on the coach and it is your responsibility to carry them. All coaches do carry a sealed first aid kit in case of an emergency.
